I am the wife of a retired career military officer. I have homeschooled my four children in two foreign countries, six different states including Hawaii, and lived in fifteen different homes. Through these experiences, I have developed a passion for family and staying connected to each other.
My homeschool philosophy has been forged in our experiences. While exploring the history, culture, or geography of a place, we have toured castles, spent time in the world's most famous museums, shopped at local markets, hiked mountains and waterfalls, swum with manta rays, delved into history, and tried to get to know the "locals". This has been the richest of learning environments, teaching us to look at the world from an experiential perspective rather that just a "book learned" perspective.
Now, as I hang up my homeschool mom hat and our military family wanderings have ceased, I have time to sit, reflect, and write. And maybe, just maybe, I can share some hard earned nuggets of wisdom and insight. It is a new season and and different journey for me, but I am looking forward to the adventure of it.
I have a BA in business economics with a minor in English from Colorado College in Colorado Springs where, interestingly enough, our story as a family began and now has come back full circle.
